Periodic Table of Typefaces

Periodic Table of TypefacesThe Periodic Table of Typefaces is a fantastic visualisation of 100 of the most popular, influential and notorious typefaces available.

Grouped by families and classes of typefaces ((sans-)serif, script, glyphic, grotesque, etc.), each ‘element’ lists the designer, the year designed and a ranking of 1 through 100.

Sites used to calculate the ranking:

  1. Thanks Lloyd for actually reading how the design came about! I’ve been see all sorts of comments asking “why isn’t Arial on here” and “why is it arranged that way?” by folks that obviously didn’t see or read the copy that originally went along with the design. Such is the interwebs right?

But anyway, thanks again! I appreciate it.

  2. Cam, thanks for taking the time to visit and comment.

The idea is great and I love the groupingsā€”it’s a pity that some others didn’t look at it closer to discover the little detailsā€¦ they’re the bits that make the difference, right? As you say, such is the interwebs!
